Changes at 2941A NEW SEASON means a new menu at 2941, and pastry chef Anthony Chavez is up to the challenge. Desserts based on seasonal fruits at the Fairfax and McLean farmers' markets include a braised apricot confit with a jelly made from an Australian dessert wine called Lillypilly and "delice de fromage," a locally-grown blueberry-and-fromage-blanc take on cheesecake.
Chavez's personal favorite is the chocolate flourless biscuit, with homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream and roasted sweet cherries. At $10 each, your waistline is spared at the expense of your wallet, but wait too long and they'll all be gone, replaced by some new delicacy.
